An innovative heating concept that contributes to sustainable infrastructure

As part of his thesis, Justin developed a forward-looking heating concept that intelligently combines renewable energy, seasonal storage, and energy-efficient technologies. The solution is not only suitable for our new factory building but can also be adapted to other industrial buildings, thereby offering real added value for sustainable infrastructure projects in the rail and industrial sectors.

Following the fire at the Deutsche Bahn signal box in Gerwisch in September 2025, reconstruction is proceeding under enormous time pressure. In addition to building a new signal box, the entire signaling system is being replaced—a technically challenging and unplanned undertaking.

CE cideon engineering is stepping up to the plate: Together with Deutsche Bahn, we are supporting the ongoing construction of the new Gerwisch electronic signal box so that the line can be fully operational again as soon as possible.

With the establishment of our Technical Infrastructure Department, we are strategically expanding our expertise in the field of rail infrastructure and laying the groundwork for future projects. Our relatively new unit consists of experienced specialists who have decades of industry experience and a deep understanding of the systems—exactly the kind of expertise that is crucial in exceptional situations like this one.

We’re kicking off 2026 with plenty of energy and are pleased to announce that our colleague Tilo Mey will be attending the 16th VPI Symposium hosted by the Association of Freight Car Owners in Germany e.V. (VPI) in Hamburg on January 13.

The VPI Symposium is one of the most important industry gatherings in the rail freight sector in Germany. The event offers valuable insights into current transportation policy issues, the Digital Automatic Coupling (DAK) system, and the key challenges facing the future of rail freight transport.

For us at CE cideon engineering, engaging with experts from the worlds of politics, logistics, and industry is particularly exciting. Only by connecting the various stakeholders can we work together to develop innovative solutions and shape the mobility of tomorrow.
